This two-day workshop is intended to be of interest to a wide range of practitioners:

TCM Practitioners: If are seeking to explore the Five Element approach to acupuncture then our wish would be that your pervious training would be augmented and intensified by this journey.

Western Medical Acupuncture Practitioners: We invite you to immerse yourself in the world of Five Element theory, and enhance your current knowledge.

Five-Element Practitioners: If you already have an understanding of the Five Element approach to acupuncture then our wish would be for your knowledge to be enhanced and expanded by this journey.

This workshop will provide you with the opportunity to engage yourself in the essence of Five Element theory, and to embark on an experiential pilgrimage during which you may encounter all kinds of intriguing philosophy and cultural ideas. All of which we would hope inspires and stimulates your intellectual juices.

 

Content

We will explore each of the Five Elements in turn, unpacking such issues as; the gifts and challenges, the seasonal and climatic links, the time-frames, the influences of food, the Classical and practical discussions on the diagnostic tools of Colour, Sound, Odour and Emotion.

We will pay particular attention to each element in turn as follows:

The Wood Element: With regard to such issues as -the diversity of Wood, the virtues of Wood. To include the phrases and expressions used by Wood C.F.’s.

The Fire Element: With regard to such issues as – relationships, communications and connection. The influence Fire has on intimacy and sexual aspects of life. To include the phrases and expressions used by Fire C.F.’s.

The Earth Element: With regard to such issues as – our connections to the mother within us, the importance of learning to say no, the importance of the home, the influence of routine, along with aspects of digestion. To include phrases and expressions used by Earth C.F.’s.

The Metal Element: With regard to such issues as – the spiritual links, the importance of respect quality and perfection, man’s relationship between heaven and earth,  the influence of fairness, justice, and righteousness. To include phrases and expressions used by Metal C.F.’s.

The Water Element: With regard to such issues as -the diversity of Water, the virtue of wisdom. To include phrases and expressions used by Water C.F.’s.

Thereby enabling us to recognise how these Elemental energetics manifest in our patients, and will in turn enhance our daily practice.
